Thinking is the process of interactions of the Conscious Mind and the Subconscious and Superconscious Minds. The Conscious Mind in a stand alone mode is the ultimate Observer. It just observes what is going on around it. Thinking is what happens when the Conscious Mind uses the other minds to process or understand what it is observing. The different Levels of Thinking are achieved by using different proportions of the Subconscious and Superconscious Minds to process the incoming information from the Conscious Mind. A quick recap is the Conscious Mind is short term memory and processing center. The Subconscious Mind is the medium term memory that contains Rules and unprocessed stuff. The Superconscious Mind is the long term memory data base of all the understood or processed experiences of a life time of Conscious Mind inputs. Thinking is the process learning from and making sense of life experiences. Thinking is a highly volatile process with many changes between levels of thinking even within very short periods of time. Let’s apply some labels to thinking levels: Primitive Thinking, Logical Thinking, What’s Possible Thinking and Everything I Know Thinking. Primitive Thinking followed by Logical Thinking are humans preferred methods of thinking.
Primitive thinking is the most basic form of thinking and involves taking in information and comparing it to the Rules in you Subconscious Mind. The comparison results in a Reaction output. A person who reacts to a lot to things operates using Primitive Thinking most of the time. Nothing new is learned from a Reaction. If you have a rule that says one plus one equals two, then no matter how many times you get asked what one and one is the reaction is always two. No new learning happens.
Logical Thinking also refers incoming information to the Subconscious Rules but also retrieves subject specific knowledge from your long term memory (Superconscious Mind). The Conscious Mind then mixes the information from all three minds and comes up with a “what makes sense” view of the incoming information. New learning now becomes possible.
What’s Possible Thinking is an extension of Logical Thinking where you retrieve more information from your long term memory including stuff that may only have a weak link to the subject at hand. You then mix it up with the information in the Conscious Mind to formulate a response. This type of thinking might also be called Brainstorming or Thinking outside the square. The trick here is to be able to do this continually while carrying on a conversation.
Everything I Know Thinking is where you download everything you know from your long term memory (Superconscious Mind) and place it into your Conscious Mind then mix it with the entirety of the issue at hand. No way this is easy. But a piece of information about why you fell off your bike as a kid becomes an important piece of the puzzle in your theory of Quantum field Time and Gravity being the same thing. Sounds a bit out there like “the earth is round” or “atoms are not solid”. Ever had a brilliant idea, a light bulb moment, chances are you used Everything I Know Thinking to get there.
I Am therefore I Think.
